Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Amber’s passion for an active lifestyle started at a young age. Growing up she competed in both gymnastics and horseback riding and always gravitated toward physical activity as an outlet during difficult times.
Throughout the duration of her studies at Vancouver Island University, she overcame many challenges that have helped shape her into the person she is today. After experiencing multiple serious injuries, and through the birth of her two children, Amber has a deep appreciation for the human body. In addition to her studies and personal experiences, she has also spent many years working with vulnerable individuals as a trainer and coach, with clients ranging from adults in trauma and addictions recovery, to youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Amber is also proud to be an equestrian coach to youth with diverse abilities outside of her Kinesiology practice.
As a result of her experiences and work history, Amber deeply values the importance of mental health alongside her kinesiology practices and physical health promotion, and approaches all services with a trauma-informed lens.
Amber has worked hard to obtain her Kinesiology degree and start her own business that provides quality, individualized treatment to vulnerable individuals and is excited to be able to help the Nanaimo community work toward a happier, healthier body and mind.
When shes not in the clinic or coaching in the arena, Amber can be found taking a pilates or kickboxing class, or riding horses. Amber also values spending quality time living an active lifestyle of camping, hiking and biking with her husband and their two young children.
